Kona switches to distributor model in the UK & Ireland
Kona is transitioning to a distributor model for sales in the UK and Ireland, after 13 years working direct with dealers.
The move comes amidst a general shake up of the distribution status quo, with a decent number of new distribution deals providing brands with routes to market after a number of administrations left them adrift – as well as brands mixing up their approach to market, including Kona.
Starting now, Kona, will be transitioning to a distributor model for sales in the UK and Ireland. Mount Green Cycles will be taking on the responsibility of handling all Kona product distribution and communication in the region.
As part of the integration process, the former Kona UK team, Scott Belshaw, and Ben Hazell, will be joining the Mount Green Cycles team. Their expertise and dedication will continue to serve dealers as they become an integral part of the new distribution channel.
Two years ago, the Kona Bicycles brand was sold to the private equity owner behind Kent Watersports, then rebranded to Kent Outdoors.
Mount Green Cycles will take over as the exclusive distributor for Kona products in the UK & Ireland, utilising their extensive experience in outdoor distribution and warehousing.
Kona sales, including order placements and inquiries, will now be conducted through Mount Green Cycles B2B platform.
