Mavic bolsters OEM efforts and appoints dedicated manager
The increasingly interesting world of Mavic – April saw the brand unveil an eBike motor unlike any other (the X-Tend) – the brand has now appointed François JOLY as OEM BU Manager.
Joly joins to strengthen Mavic’s ability to meet the needs of its bicycle manufacturing customers.
Investments are currently underway to modernise its French production facilities at Saint-Trivier sur Moignans, the historic site in the Ain region. “This will enable us to respond even more rapidly to our customers’ changing needs,” said the brand.
François Joly joins with 10 years of experience in the industry and no little determination to drive the OEM business, so said the PR.
Mavic came under French ownership again in 2020. Amer Sports sold it to a Californian private equity firm in 2019, however difficulties no doubt enhanced by Covid disruption saw it into receivership in May 2020. The situation is considerably brighter now and CIN caught up with the revitalised brand in Q2 last year. Meanwhile the brand is recruiting new sales reps in the UK, and we feel compelled to mention that left field eBike motor again.
