Streamlines’ FORMA Sensor to shake up body position optimisation

The first product from F1 heritage Streamlines is now coming to market, the FORMA body position sensor, a device designed to help cyclists maintain their optimum body positions whilst riding or racing.

While exclusively available direct for the time being, FORMA will gradually be introduced to coaches and fitters who will provide the drag measurement service to customers.

Retailing at £475 inc VAT (€555 / $495), FROMA was initially created to assist with Streamlines aerodynamic drag measurement system, but following positive feedback from testers, Streamlines realised FORMA was valuable to riders in its own right.

Streamlines if official partner of Team Jumbo-Visma and FORMA has been used as part of their aerodynamic development and training for their TdF victories.

Streamlines was founded 2021 by former F1 aerodynamicist John Buckley , to bring accurate and practical aero testing and training to the cycling industry.

Key features of the Streamlines’ FORMA include:

  • Independently measures head and chest position within 2mm
  • Real-time feedback to cycling computer display
  • Indicates position relative to ideal with intuitive colour graphics
  • Garmin data field easily integrates into rider’s custom settings, no need to use an exclusive app
  • Post-ride data viewable via FIT file and Garmin Connect
  • Discrete unit with quarter turn bike mount

Pitched as an answer to the predicament of rider fatigue or muscle memory drift leading to less than optimal body position, FORMA transmits rider body position to a cycling computer in real-time, in an easy-to-view data field, allowing for a quick rider response and adjustment of position.
