New era for Tiger Cycles: Kenda & Messingschlager distribution deals + strategic appointment
Now almost 30 years old, Tiger Cycles is entering a transformative period, marked by major distribution partnerships and team expansion: Tiger Cycles was recently appointed an official distributor for Kenda tyres in the UK and became exclusive distributor for Messingschlager across the UK and Ireland, signalling a strategic expansion for the business.
Tiger Cycles has specialised in accessible, reliable bicycles and components, but securing distribution rights for Kenda, one of the worlds most respected tyre manufacturers, elevates the company into a new league, the business said, calling it a “bold step forward”: “Kenda’s reputation for innovation and performance across MTB, road, gravel and urban cycling aligns seamlessly with Tiger Cycles’ mission to serve riders of all levels”.
“For UK retailers, this means streamlined access to a tyre brand that has historically been fragmented across multiple suppliers. For riders, it means consistency, better availability, clearer product ranges and stronger after-sales support.”
Tiger Cycles has followed up the move by becoming sole distributor for Messingschlager in the UK and Ireland. Messingschlager, one of Europe’s largest cycling names, brings an enormous catalogue of components, accessories and OEM solutions, with a portfolio that includes everything from wheels and drivetrains to lighting, tools and specialist parts.
“This partnership positions Tiger Cycles as a central gateway between European manufacturing excellence and British and Irish retail demand. It consolidates supply chains, reduces complexity for shops and ensures that Messingschlager’s expansive product ecosystem is represented with clarity and consistency.
“These partnerships arrive at a time when the cycling industry is evolving rapidly, with increased demand for e-mobility, higher expectations for component quality and a growing emphasis on sustainability. By aligning with Kenda and Messingschlager, Tiger Cycles is positioning itself at the centre of these shifts.
“The significance of these agreements goes beyond commercial opportunity, they represent confidence from Kenda and Messingschlager in Tiger Cycles ability to support the cycling community, suggesting Tiger Cycles is ready to play a larger role in shaping the future of cycling across the UK and Ireland.”
Iain Pollitt-Walmsley joins the Tiger team
Tiger Cycles has built further on the momentum with the appointment of an industry stalwart to its commercial team. Iain Pollitt-Walmsley has joined Tiger’s sales team, complementing a well-established network of knowledgeable regional agents. This move underscores the company’s commitment to service, expertise and retailer support.
His arrival adds a human dimension to the company’s growing distribution power, and it fits naturally into the broader narrative about Tiger Cycles new partnerships with Kenda and Messingschlager.
Iain brings with him extensive industry experience along with a reputation for relationship building particularly with independent bike shops and regional chains. His appointment signals Tiger Cycles recognition that distribution success isn’t just about logistics, it’s about people. As the company’s portfolio grows, so does the need for knowledgeable, trusted voices who can guide retailers through new opportunities.
