Nextbike opens new manufacturing hub in Warsaw

German bike-sharing operator nextbike has opened a new manufacturing hub in Warsaw, Poland, incorporating multiple functions, including bike assembly, quality management and refurbishment operations.

Spanning 8,000m², the new production facility features six assembly machines and a 36-metre-long bicycle assembly line, ensuring shorter lead times for new fleet deliveries. With a production capacity of up to 200 bicycles per day, the hub forms part of the company’s growth strategy as it aims to double its fleet to over 200,000 bicycles and increase the share of eBikes in its global portfolio.

Additionally, the company said the new hub will help it respond more quickly to the local requirements of commissioning cities and react efficiently to the specific needs of bike-sharing end users.

The facility has also created hundreds of new jobs across multiple departments, including logistics, purchasing, production and maintenance.
