Pivot Cycles opens European bike assembly and service centre

Pivot has bolstered its position in Europe with the opening of a Bielefeld, Germany facility that will also handle some assembly and service duties.

Coming in addition to a Stuttgart office housing marketing, sales, and aftermarket service support. As a result, Pivot’s end consumers, retail dealers and distribution partners will benefit from various service tools, individualised advice, and fast shipments of spare parts. Complete bikes and frames will also now be delivered from Germany.

The move comes three years on from the hire of Volker Knaus who has been pivotal in driving forwards sales and marketing activity across Europe, says the brand.

“It’s crazy to see how fast it all went! What started out as a one-man show, a big van, and 15 demo bikes in 2015; today it is a powerful and amazing team that stands behind Pivot Cycles here in Germany,” Volker Knaus, European Brand Manager.

Pivot Cycles EU GmbH now has eight permanent employees and several part-time helpers who support demo events. Emily Landeryou, a longtime Pivot Cycles US employee, has immigrated from the USA to Bielefeld, Germany where she will now oversee the quality control on all bikes as well as the day-to-day business operations of the GmbH.

Furthermore, Pivot Cycles added five new employees at the beginning of the year to strengthen the European service and marketing team: Florian Reichenberger, Hannah Deusch, Matthias Laschczok, Christoph Scholz, and Marco Felske.

Chris Cocalis, CEO and President said of the expansion: “We know from our own experience in the USA how important it is for our customers to have direct personal contact with the manufacturer. With the service office in Stuttgart and the bike assembly in Bielefeld, we offer our sales partners and our customers the best quality, fast delivery times, and constant availability.”
