Shift Cycling Culture appoint Sandra Brandt as Executive Director
Shift Cycling Culture have announced the appointment of Sandra Brandt in the role of Executive Director. The organisation sees this as a key hire, further accelerating collective climate action across the global cycling community.
Reflecting on the announcement; “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in just 2 years, combining our skills, network, and drive, to make this shift in the industry. But our limited time is also the biggest bottleneck in creating more impact.”
“Shift has been run on an unpaid, voluntary basis. Thanks to Patron Funding by a number of Climate Commitment signatories it has been able to hire an Sandra Brandt to take the lead in the next chapter of Shift and the Climate Commitment. The organisation’s Board of Directors will remain closely involved following the new hire.”
Prior to joining Shift Cycling Culture, Brandt has led the International Platform for Insetting – a collaborative non-profit organisation of businesses working together on nature-based climate solutions at the heart of their supply chains. This initiative brings together companies from fashion & luxury, food & beverage and retail, incl. brands such as Chanel, Nestlé and H&M. Before that, she was working at Adidas as the Senior Environmental Program Manger, developing strategies and programmes to improve the environmental performance of business operations across the value chain. She is also the co-founder of Ridgeline, a mountain bike holiday company in northern Tuscany.
For industry members keen to engage with colleague on the subject of sustainability, the first Shift Cycling Culture Environmental Impact Cycling Barcamp (EICB) will take place on Friday 27th January – details of which can be found here.
