PON.Bike acquires FietsNED mobile mechanic business

Santa Cruz and Cervelo owner Pon has acquired Dutch mobile mechanic business FietsNED.

Coming at the same time as the Accell North America tie up with Beeline Bikes, the deals further build upon a trend for last mile service for brands sold direct to the consumer.

Available 24/7, FietsNED’s has a long list of corporate accounts including the likes of the Dutch MOD, Domino’s Pizza and Shell, among others for which it services fleets of bikes.

Pon’s vision is that as employees in the regions served increasingly turn to active transport and electric bikes over personal cars the business will grow.

Founder Martin Leemans is set to remain the mobile firm’s managing director as part of the deal and the business’s headquarters will remain in Oosterhout, Netherlands.
