Quin Tag launch aims to provide increased safety for riders
Quin is releasing its Quin Tag, a small device storing critical information and enabling faster and more effective emergency responses, built into the partner brand products. This marks Quin’s first advanced safety features at an entry-level price point.
The Tag has been developed using Quin’s ‘gold standard’ event detection technology as a base. It features low-cost integration and a wide variety of materials and form factors, allowing for greater flexibility. Partners can implement intelligent safety into a wider range of their products, improving ownership for more riders.
If and when accidents occur life-saving details and data can be provided to first responders by tapping the Tag with a smart device, making identification easy. Upon the tag being scanned, Quin’s digital safety platform alerts the riders emergency contacts.
Ani Surabhi, founder and CEO of Quin, said: “With Quin Tag, we’re removing critical barriers in emergency response for cyclists. It’s a small and simple solution that could make all the difference in the moments that matter most.”
Medical details and other relevant information are uploaded by the rider to the Quin Tag using the Quin Within app. This data is then encrypted by scanning the Quin Diamond on their helmet, ready for later on-demand use. Quin’s network is currently operational in 32 countries, with all personal data protected by end-to-end encryption to prevent unauthorised access. Riders have the final say in what information is shared.
Surabhi added: “Consumer insights data shows that safety is the top priority for cyclists when choosing a helmet,” added Conrad Lewis, Commercial Director at Quin. “By making the integration of Quin Tag so seamless for partners, we’re making intelligent safety accessible to so many more riders. For our partner brands, it’s a powerful opportunity to offer meaningful differentiation and harness new pre-sale opportunities to use the Tag, as well as activating on-shelf scannable digital marketing opportunities.”
Safety is a salient issue for most cyclists, and especially the younger generations, with reports stating better safety could encourage more Gen Z’s to take up cycling.
