Raleigh UK business name transitions to Accell UK & Ireland
Raleigh UK is officially changing its operating business name to Accell UK & Ireland, bolstering its connection to its parent Accell Group, which owns 12 bike brands.
Raleigh remains a key brand within its UK portfolio, alongside Haibike and Lapierre.
Accell said the name change reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency, supporting its diverse portfolio of premium cycling brands and reinforcing its position as a leader in the UK and Ireland’s bicycle market.
Raleigh UK became part of the Accell Group in 2012 when the Raleigh brand was acquired by the big European cycling player. Raleigh UK has progressively aligned itself with Accell Group’s strategies and operations, leveraging the group’s resources and expertise to optimise its offerings and deliver enhanced value to customers, it said.
Ahead of its appearance at COREbike, Accell UK & Ireland reaffirmed its commitment to the cycling industries in the UK and Ireland: “[We] will continue to deliver premium products and services backed by the collective expertise and innovation of Accell Group’s industry-leading brands.”
The transition to Accell UK & Ireland follows the comprehensive business restructure completed at the end of 2023, which also saw a relocation in ’24. This significant milestone is a logical next step, positioning the company to maximise its synergies with the Accell Group, which owns 12 bike brands, including Raleigh, and is recognised as a European market leader in electric bicycles.
“This change is more than just a new name—it marks an exciting new chapter in our journey of growth and innovation as part of the Accell Group,” said Chris Slater, Country Managing Director, Accell UK & Ireland. “We deeply respect Raleigh’s rich heritage in the UK, and it will remain a vital part of our portfolio. By adopting the Accell UK & Ireland name, we’re strengthening our position in the market, allowing us to better represent our full family of brands—including Haibike and Lapierre—while continuing to serve our customers with the same passion and dedication they expect from us.”
Now fully integrated into the Accell Group organisation, Accell UK & Ireland is better positioned to strengthen distribution channels, improve customer experiences, and bring cutting-edge innovations to the market, the firm said: “The Raleigh brand is synonymous with cycling history in the UK, and its enduring legacy will continue to be celebrated. As Accell UK & Ireland, the company will preserve Raleigh’s place as a cornerstone of its portfolio while providing enhanced support for Haibike and Lapierre. This strategic shift allows Accell UK & Ireland to represent its full spectrum of brands more effectively without the potential confusion of sharing a name with just one.”
2025 prospects
Accell UK & Ireland’s forward-looking strategy is underpinned by a robust outlook for 2025. The company is set to introduce new ranges from Haibike and Lapierre. Raleigh, too, will unveil exciting new additions that reaffirm its position as a trusted and dynamic brand.
“With Accell Group’s backing, we are stepping into an exciting period of growth and innovation,” added Chris Slater. “The name Accell UK & Ireland reflects our expanded capabilities and reinforces our leadership in the UK and Ireland cycling markets. While Raleigh remains a cornerstone of our portfolio, this transition allows us to fully showcase the breadth of our brands and expertise, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of today’s cyclists.”
As a key player in the UK and Ireland cycling industry, Accell UK & Ireland is committed to delivering world-class products, exceptional service, and innovative solutions that inspire and empower cyclists of all levels.
The company invites its valued customers and partners, current and future, to join them at COREbike 2025 to see the latest ranges from Raleigh, Haibike and Lapierre to discuss the exciting new chapter.
