Relocated and refocused Outdoor by ISPO opens doors in Munich this weekend

The international bike show calendar is currently in its biggest state of flux for a number of years; Interbike 2019 was cancelled, while heavyweights like Taipei Cycle and Eurobike have been shuffling their dates around to reverse attendance drops (while still admittedly attracting significant audiences).

On the sidelines, outdoor-focused ‘Outdoor by ISPO’ is launching this weekend in Munich, relocating after 25 years in Friedrichschafen.

The retail focused show is broad, but – along with the location move – it is refocusing the show and making moves on the cycle sector. A press statement spelled this out: “As part of an inclusive outdoor mindset, traditional areas such as hiking and climbing will of course be included but so too will newer activities such as trail running or mountain biking. In addition, there is cooperation with other sectors.”

This time around, the show has 140 exhibitors listed in the ‘Bike sports’ category, which includes a number of brands with a foot in more than just the bicycle category, including 7mesh, Buff, BH Bikes, Camelbak, Dexshell, Endura, FIVE TEN, Knog, Polartec, Lumos, Ortlieb, SCOTT, Showers Pass, Splash maps, Thule and Vaude, to name a few.
