Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Show cancelled due to snow gripping UK

The Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show has announced that it has been forced to cancel the exhibition ahead of its planned launch this weekend.

Cold weather has forced the organisers to reschedule the event, information about which will be released shortly. Much of the UK is currently experiencing a cold snap that has caused infrastructure to struggle as the snow falls.

The organiser’s announcement reads:

“It is with deep regret that due to the extreme adverse weather conditions and the unprecedented red weather warning issued in Scotland and parts of England on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, together with the ongoing amber alert warning announced for the rest of the weekend throughout the UK, this weekend’s Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show scheduled to be held at the SEC Glasgow, has had to been cancelled.

“Due to these extenuating circumstances, it is imperative that we prioritise the health and safety of all those involved in the delivery of the event and those wishing to attend, therefore we have no option but to cancel for safety reasons.

“However, do not worry! All tickets for this event will remain 100% valid and you will not lose any money on your purchase. We will contact you over the coming weeks with more detailed information about the new show dates and about your tickets. We apologise for the inconvenience this decision has caused which has been forced upon us by these extreme weather conditions. However, I am sure you will understand that the safety of all those involved must be paramount and our number one priority at this time.”

Further updates will appear on the SCROPS website in due course.
