SRAM recruit for a Director of Global Cycling Community Growth

SRAM are recruiting for what one senior Marketing and Brand professional has describes as possibly, “one of the coolest jobs ever in the cycling industry“: Director of Global Cycling Community Growth.

That’s right, SRAM is looking for a person to “grow community and get more people on bikes”. Pretty high up there on the ‘dream job’ list it’s fair to say.

What’s the Chicago based bicycle component manufacturer looking for from this role? A wide skillset with deep experience.

The successful candidate will, “lead SRAM’s global strategy to drive greater participation in cycling through policy, advocacy, and community engagement. This includes mountain, road, and gravel with the goal of expanding the current market size in each category.”

“Tasked with creating a practical, results-oriented strategy that focuses on expanding the cycling market size by working with underrepresented groups such as women, BIPOC, and youth, the person in role will build on SRAM’s leadership role in the cycling industry through partnerships with non-profits and the grass-roots cycling movement; and leveraging broad public, government, and business resources.”

This role will also: “Coordinate and influence coalitions and campaigns. Advise and coach external partners and nonprofits. Guide the development of SRAM strategies, objectives, and metrics to track progress. Engage and ensure alignment with corporate goals and throughout the broader SRAM team with a particular focus on customer-facing teams in MarCom, Product, Sales, and Sales Operations. Champion the values of community, inclusion, equity, and sustainability.”
