Thieves fish bikes out through the roof in Cycle Gear raid

Thieves hit Halifax’s Cycle Gear in an unusual raid on Tuesday morning, breaking skylights before fishing out two high value bikes.

The raid is the fourth time in 2016 that the store has been broken into.

Owner Nath told CyclingIndustry.News: “It was at around 2am Tuesday morning. The thieves got onto the roof of our shop (two stories high). They then smashed the one of 10 skylights that we have on our roof and fished two bikes in around 20 minutes with a hook and rope. It sadly means we’ve no pictures of the thieves from our CCTV.”

The bikes were a 2017 Saracen Myst Team and a 2017 Orbea Rallon X10. Dealers and cyclists are asked to be on the lookout for the new model year bikes in the region and online.
