Tour of Britain 2023 makes trio of partner announcements

With the 2023 edition of the Tour of Britain less than 2 weeks away, there have been a flurry of commercial partner announcements, 3 of which we’ll highlight here.

For riders keen to test themselves against a stage as raced by the pros, Komoot has just the thing for you – that’s right, GPX files for each and every stage.

Naturally enough there’ll be a few who read that and immediately fancying attempting their own version of an episode of Phil Gaimon’s worst retirement ever – the Tour of Britain KOM hunting season has officially opened, and you have a 10 day head start on the pros.

Important to mention here, whilst the GPX files give you the exact route for each stage, that stage routes can feature pedestrianised areas, occasionally go against traffic on one-way streets, and make turnings that are otherwise not permitted under normal traffic flow – ‘riders are responsible for their own behaviour’ is the key take away here.

Speaking of KOM hunting, Pinarello has come onboard as the Tour of Britain King of the Mountains partner.  This year’s race, which begins in Greater Manchester on Sunday 3rd of September, features 16 categories climbs, including Ramsbottom Rake, Rhigos, and Caerrphilly Mountain.

For Pinarello, the brand has 2 teams riding its bikes in the 2023 edition of the race: Bolton Equities Black Spoke, and Ineos Grenadiers.

If taking on a KOM challenge sounds like your own, personal version of cycling hell on earth, there’s a far more comfortable way to interact with the race. Sportive Breaks – 2023 sponsor of the best young rider jersey – are offering VIP experiences at this September’s Tour of Britain, including the opportunity to ride each day’s finish in the company of Grand Tour stage winner Dan Martin, and packages to view stages from the VIP guest cars. Visit the Sportive Breaks website for more information.
