Unior Tools kick start 2023 season with range of new tools
Slovenian specialist tool manufacturer Unior has set out its stall for 2023 with the collective launch of an array of new tools and tool kits for store based workshops and professional bike mechanics alike.
The brand has made a noticeable impact in the workshops and service course of WorldTour teams over the past 3 years, with Team Jumbo Visma, Ineos, and Deceuninck – Quick-Step all using Unior tools. On the Mountain Bike World Cup circuit, where Unior has had a notable presence since 2017, they are today the co-sponsor of Unior Sinter Factory Racing, also providing tools for Trek Factory Racing, and Continental Atherton Race Team, amongst others.
Exploring the new for 2023 tools we begin with the BB, where Unior introduces a bottom bracket specific bearing press kit. This includes drifts for all most common press fit standards – SRAM DUB, BB30, BB86/BB92 – and features the manufacturers time-saving quick release handle system.
Also for BB installation and removal, are new additions to the Unior aluminium bottom bracket socket range, this time for E13 and Hope. Both are precision machined, and anodised red, ensuring a durable finish, and designed for use with the Pro Socket Handle or 1/2″ Torque Wrench.
For many, the Master Wheel Building Kit will be an absolute essential, packaged to provide everything a professional or home mechanic might need to build a wheel – from components to finished item – and keep wheels straight and true. The kit includes 19 wheel specific tools in a workshop friendly storage box with pre-cut foam inlays.
Following on from the recently updated Pro Truing Stand, Unior now offers a wooden base, made from beech plywood. The new base prevents scratches to worktop surfaces, and provides stabilisation, also coming with handy trays for storing spoke wrenches or other items. The wooden base upgrade fits the new and older version so can be use it with existing stands.
When working on eBikes the new Screwdriver Socket with 1/2″ TX Plus T40 profile will likely become an essential item. Designed with the Bosch Gen4 eBike drive units in mind, using the Torx Plus T40 will prevent rounding of bolts, which can happen when a standard Torx profile is used.
Working on hydraulic brake systems there is an new double-sided wrench, featuring a 7mm and 8mm opening on each side. The 5 sided head holds the nut securely to spread force evenly and prevent damage to fasteners. This can also be use with a 1/4″ Torque Wrench.
New additions for 2023 also include a wide range of BMX tools and tool kits and the always essential Flush Cutters.
The UK and Ireland distributor of Unior tools is ZyroFisher.
