All-new Enve SES line-up receives real-world performance updates

Carbon fibre specialists Enve have recently launched an ‘all-new for 2022’ SES wheel line-up, maintaining the aero excellence which previous generations of Enve SES have been known for, whilst raising the bar for the weight, strength, and versatility.

With a focus on the needs of modern road cyclist, gravel riders, and triathletes, the new SES line is designed to help riders and racers of all abilities and disciplines roll faster.

Stand out from the launch is the introduction of the SES 2.3 and SES 6.7, both completely new additions to the line. The ultra-light SES 2.3 features a narrower wide hookless bead with an inner rim width of 21mm. The new triathlon and TT focused SES 6.7 sports a 23mm internal rim width.

For Gravel riders and racers the more versatile, mixed-surface capable SES 3.4 and SES 4.5 feature a 25mm inner rim width and a substantially larger wide hookless bead.

As early pioneers of modern road tubeless wheel design, ENVE’s new wheel collection is designed for
tubeless use only, and all wheel models in the collection feature a hookless bead design. All ENVE’s tubeless compatible wheels, including the latest SES, are compliant with the current ETRTO (European
Tire and Rim Technical Organization) tubeless rim with straight-sidewall dimensional standard.

Over the past few years ENVE has discontinued all tubular road wheel models, and with the introduction
of this latest generation, ENVE has announced that they will no longer be manufacturing rims with brake
tracks. While ENVE will no longer offer rim brake compatible wheelsets in the aftermarket, they are
committed to providing warranty support and service for rim brake products for the next two years.

For fully paid up members of the rim brake defence force, a certain quote springs to mind: “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.”

Enve 'Made in the USA' stampOn the subject of warranty, Enve was an early pioneer of the ‘no-questions-asked’ lifetime incident warranty; something which built the brand a strong fan base, and which other brands followed suit in offering variations of. This policy sees a tweak, following the launch of the new SES range, with the first 3 years still covered as before – now also extended to second hand owners – with a crash replacement / assisted purchase cover then rolling in from end of year 3 onward.

Whilst Enve wheels are still Utah, USA manufactured, the aero engineering effort is British of origin, with ex F1 aerodynamicist Simon Smart, he of Drag 2 Zero fame, carrying out the work which makes Enve’s ‘Smart System’ line of wheels and components low drag and highly desirable.

In the UK ENVE is distributed by Saddleback.
