Velocomp Vbike system eliminates expensive torque sensors

Velocomp LLC has announced that it has applied its opposing-force power measurement technology to eBikes, creating a low-cost VBike torque measurement system with performance enhancements that the firm says are unavailable from conventional alternatives.

The patent-pending tech reportedly gives the electric bike rider a better use of the battery’s resources, as well as a “smart” response with dynamic adjustment of the motor’s output when conditions toughen.

Targeting OEM business, the Florida-based firm says their Vbike tech lowers manufacturing costs and space taken up by torque sensors, thus helping brands improve design aesthetics.

A demo eBike using the new VBike technology will be available for test rides at Eurobike booth FG-AK/3.
