Zwift Cog and Click upgrade kit: Simplification for indoor riding

wift Cog – the core of Zwift’s hardware ecosystem – is a single sprocket designed to fit most 8-12 speed bikes, broadening the scope of potential bikes that can be included in the Zwift set-up, whether MTB or older models. Setup is significantly simplified by eliminating the need to swap cassettes. Meanwhile, indexing is also streamlined via Cog and Click, eliminating the need to index the users’ bike.

It’s ideal for those sharing a trainer or frequently switching between bikes, offering compatibility across setups. Working solely with the Zwift platform, Zwift Cog essentially makes it easier and more accessible so riders can focus on the bit they want to – riding.

The Zwift Click & Cog Upgrade Kit comes with the Zwift Click compact wireless controller. This handy device enables riders to unlock virtual shifting. Zwift Click allows them to shift gears directly in-game without touching the bike’s physical drivetrain. Riders can mount it wherever it feels natural – drop bars, aero bars or flat bars – giving them full control of the ride with the click of a button.

Virtual gears replicate the feel of mechanical shifting by adjusting the resistance on the smart trainer to simulate real-world gear changes. Using Zwift Click (or Zwift Play), riders can cycle through 24 silent, instant virtual gears without moving the bike’s actual chain. This ensures smooth, responsive shifting whether tackling a steep climb or sprinting to the finish. Plus, virtual shifting keeps your ride quiet with the added bonus of eliminating the wear and tear on rider’s drivetrains.

Compatibility: If there’s a Zwift Ready logo on the trainer then it is compatible with Zwift’s hardware and virtual shifting features and optimised for seamless performance with Zwift Cog and Zwift Click. The full compatibility list is online, but this includes Wahoo KICKR CORE, KICKR V6 and KICKR MOVE, plus trainers from Elite, JetBlack and Van Rysel.
