What Mountain Bike closes, subscribers offered MBUK

Subscribers to What Mountain Bike are reporting that the June edition will be the last, according to a letter bundled in with the “final” printed copy.

Now part of of Germany’s Hubert Burda Media Group following a January takeover of Immediate Media, What Mountain Bike is one of many cycling titles in the portfolio and subscribers are now to be offered Mountain Biking UK, should they choose to continue with the new publisher.

What Mountain Bike’s circulation, in line with a general trend for consumer readership decline in print, had been falling for a number of years. In 2017 the title no longer chose to be Audit Bureau of Circulation certified.

MBUK was audited and averaged 27,382 print and digital readers, of which 2,165 consumed the magazine in the latter format. Coming in at £4.99, or £64.87 for an annual subscription, the 13 issue per year magazine is the leading mountain biking title in the Burda Media leisure portfolio.
