Windwave adds app-based catalogue in print phase down

Windwave has announced that its catalogue is now available via a newly-developed app, which can be found here.

“The less we print, the better” said Peter Nisbet, Windwave MD. “For us, the move towards a digital catalogue was based on three motives: convenience (ensuring our stockists can access our products almost instantly), keeping an up-to-date database (ensuring new products are automatically added to the catalogue without having to re-print the entire thing) and most importantly, environmental (a digital catalogue eliminates the need to print thousands of pages)”, he added.

The search function is easy and intuitive, and users can filter their search by category or by brand. It displays up-to-date retail prices for each product and product option, making it easy for their customers to decide whether to go ahead or not. From there, the dealer can click through to the B2B product page and place their order as normal.

The catalogue also has useful “Finder” pages for headsets, bottom brackets and CeramicSpeed OSPWs, which will help customers find the right product using specification filters.

The web-based app does not require downloading and works almost entirely client side, meaning there’s no need to wait for servers to fulfil requests; once the app is loaded, everything after that will load instantly.

On top of this, new products will be uploaded to the catalogue automatically as soon as they are loaded onto Windwave’s servers, which will cut down time and labour both sides. The app is designed predominantly for phones and tablets but can also be used on desktop.
