Bicycling parent set for takeover by media giant Hearst
The NYPost is reporting that Rodale, the publishing parent to Bicycling, is set to be acquired by Hearst the publisher of glossy magazines such as Cosmopolitan.
Reported to be worth $250 million, the deal would see around 450 Rodale employees remain, meaning that Bicycling should be little affected by the proposed deal.
Rodale’s portfolio further includes fitness titles Men’s Health, Women’s Health and Runner’s World, among others.
The NYPost says that the deal is unlikely to go public until the Justice Department clears the acquisition of violation of antitrust laws.
