Blaze recruits Shimano veteran Kim Madsen
Founder and CEO of Blaze Emily Brooke has announced the appointment of Kim Madsen to the new role of Sales Manager. This will be the first hire of an international sales manager for the British cycling technology company.
Madsen has more than 20 years of experience in the international bicycle industry. He has worked as International Account/Sales Manager for a number of leading companies such as Shimano and Accell Group.
The company of 25 staff, based in East London, designs and manufactures bicycle lighting products and connected devices for OEM and consumers, as well as integrated products for bike share schemes such as London’s Santander Cycles and New York’s Citi Bike. Blaze recently revealed a push into OEM spec, furthering the business.
Madsen says: “I am excited to be taking up the task of Sales Manager for Blaze where I will be part of a young, enthusiastic team. Blaze has some unique and innovative products such as the Laserlight, which has proven to be a huge success in the UK.
“My first task is to establish Aftermarket distribution in key markets such as Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. Furthermore, we have some great products to offer OEM customers with the new Laserlamp which is developed for Dynamo Hubs and E-bikes specifically.”
Emily Brooke added, “We are thrilled to welcome Kim to our business during this exciting time of growth. After our success in the UK market both in consumer products and bikeshare, Blaze is poised to continue to expand into international markets and with new products. Hiring Kim, a expert in the bicycle trade, shows our ambition to continue to bring our products and technology to manufacturers and consumers around the world.”
Blaze are poised to launch a new lighting range in Autumn 2018, featuring products at new price points in addition to their flagship Laser Projection Technology.
