Blazing Bikes and Country Cycles hit in smash and grab thefts

Thieves have made off with a number of high value bikes at two separate break ins over the past 48 hours; Country Cycles of Killearn and Blazing Bikes of Marshbrook the victims.

Those in the trade are asked to be on alert for the following bikes and to be aware of a white Vauxhall Vivaro with the registration RE63 ZPY, which is suspected to have links to the break in.

  • 2021 Trek Fuel 9.9 XTR in Factory Orange (very few of these in the U.K.)- Size large
  • 2021 Trek Rail 9.7- Raw carbon/ volt.

The store was protected by a series of security measures in this instance, including fogging devices, CCTV and physical security, but in this instance the thieves made short work of an exterior door, smashing through using a fire extinguisher. The CCTV footage can be viewed here.

Country Cycles

Just days earlier Country Cycles were busy fitting out an extension for the business, but over the weekend thieves used brute force to gain entry.

Another pile of bikes will be for sale today in Glasgow, but with no warranty. But we’re back open and the security has been bolstered,” wrote Country Cycles to its Facebook page.
