Cambrian to remain UK distributor for Storck despite new D2C platform

Storck Bicycles has announced the launch of its own online D2C platform, but has confirmed that Cambrian Tyres will remain its exclusive UK distributor.

Storck’s full product range is now directly available to end consumers in the rest of the world through its online product store and studio concept.

Markus Storck said: “The changed purchasing behaviour of our customers, the increasing shift toward the online business, and the success of our Flagship Stores and Studios enable us to take this strategic step toward our new 4.0 sales concept. By making this move, we significantly contribute to the price stability of our products in the marketplace as well.”

Customers will receive consulting support and services provided by the existing Storck flagship stores and studios, which will also offer additional services such as measurement and seating position analysis and joint regional bike racing experiences. Storck’s Store and Studio network will continue to be expanded.

Alongside the launch of the new online platform, Storck have unveiled the new Fascenario.3 Comp which features an Ultegra plus carbon seat post and handlebars, weighing 7kg and retailing at €2,499. The brand have also launched a new e-Bike range through the platform which includes e-MTBs and electric road bikes.

However, with the addition of an English-language page to the new D2C site, came some confusion over the certainty of Cambrian Tyres’ role as UK distributor for the brand.

Mario Kuban, Head of Marketing and PR at Storck, has since confirmed that, “UK customers will continue to be provided by our partner Cambrian,” and that UK customers are not able to buy bikes through Storck’s D2C platform.

Cambrian Tyres was appointed as the official UK distributor for Storck in February 2017.
