CyclingIndustry.News podcast to relaunch with Sean Lally as presenter

CyclingIndustry.News is pleased to announce the return of our podcast in 2022 under the new stewardship of veteran bike trade podcaster Sean Lally.

Sean’s is a name widely recognised in the cycling industry as co-founder of the Cycle Systems Academy, a leading training school for cycle mechanics with an extensive range of courses covering all things from wheel building through to handling modern electric bikes.

Launching in the coming months will be an extension of the Academy’s online efforts with the Cycle Systems Online, for which you can find out more information on the Dial Up Your Cycle Tech Skills Facebook page here.

As an aside to his training academy’s work, Sean is a veteran podcaster, having racked up well over 100 episodes of his own show, which you can dig into here. His recent episodes explore subjects such as cycling’s lacklustre presence at COP26, Bosch’s new Smart System, as well as tech deep dives on suspension systems and wheel building.

Sean Lally commented on coming on board: “I’m thrilled to be presenting the Cycling Industry News podcast. To deliver a monthly show to an informed and engaged audience will be great fun and I’m sure you and I both will learn plenty over the coming year from our stellar guest list.”

CyclingIndustry.News’ Editor, Mark Sutton, welcomed Sean, offering: “Going back a decade or more I would see Sean making impromptu recordings at bike events and he’s not stopped since. The content he produces week after week is among the most insightful and educational available and so working with him on a reinvigorated brief for CI.N’s podcast is very exciting and I hope that you’ll tune in next time you’re tuning up a bike or cycling to the office.”

Sean previously featured on our podcast alongside fellow cycle mechanic trainer Graeme Freestone-King. Over the period of an hour the pair covered ground ranging modern cycle mechanics through to the pay disparity considered to be emerging between the enhanced skillset and the daily task.

Episodes of CyclingIndustry.News’ podcast will now come monthly, each addressing the pressing subjects facing the industry as the year progresses, as well as some forward-looking viewpoints on everything from bicycle design through to broader retail education matters,
