Emerald Expositions President and CEO resigns

David Loechner has moved on from his role heading up Emerald Expositions, owner of Interbike.

Loechner was president, CEO and board member for Emerald and the search is on for a permanent replacement. He’ll stay on until the end of the year, remaining in place to smooth the transition.

David Loechner said, “After more than 35 years with Emerald and its predecessor companies, this was a difficult decision to make. However, I believe that the Company is well positioned in its industry and its end markets, and this is the right time for me to retire from Emerald. It has been an honour and privilege to lead the Company over the last eight years and to have worked with so many talented people. Together we have accomplished a great deal, and I look forward to working with Phil and team, through the end of the year, to ensure the business transitions smoothly.”

This year’s Interbike moved from Las Vegas to Reno with a revamped education programme. Interbike vice president Justin Gottlieb hinted at further changes already being in the works for the 2019 event.
