QBP announce All-City brand to wind down
Quality Bicycle Products (QBP), the USA business that is the parent company of All-City Cycles, has announced the brand is coming to an end, “with no new product development beyond model year 2024. The brand will eventually be retired in a few years.”
US and UK retailers have this week been informed, with email sent to retailers in both markets, outlining the thinking behind taking the decision.
In the US, the news first broke cover via an article on The Radavist. CI.N has since spoken with UK All-City distributor, Ison, who provided the following (as shared with UK retail partners Thursday 16th October).
Last Wednesday evening, QBP advised Ison Distribution that over the coming year, QBP will begin to wind down the All-City Cycles brand, with no new product development beyond model year 2024. The brand will eventually be retired by QBP in a few years.
The available stock of All City frames within Ison Distribution UK is relatively scarce with a total quantity of only around 100 units across all options.
We expect a very limited number of additional new and exciting All-City frames to become available in the next calendar year.
Ison Distribution believes that All City remains a great opportunity for your business to continue to offer beautifully engineered, boutique style steel bikes to your most discerning customers, while stocks last in the UK.
QBP and Ison Distribution will continue to service retailers and consumers with replacement parts and support product warranties through our current warranty program.
Ison will endeavour to support our valuable All City UK stockists whilst the international wind-down strategy of this unique, high quality steel brand occurs.
Whilst the All-City brand will eventually end years from now, QBP and Ison will continue to grow and support Surly Bikes which remains one of QBP’s other key proprietary bike brands in the UK.
