Evans Cycles’ Crawley and Wandsworth branches close, two new locations set for spring opening

Evans Cycles has closed its Crawley and Wandsworth stores, with leases having expired. Staff from both branches have moved to other stores.

Having opened five stores in the past 12 months, a further two branches look likely to open in the Spring of 2017, though at present the locations of these are to be announced.

The retail group has had mixed fortunes in 2016, with boss Nick Wilkinson having departed in September and parent ECI having pumped additional funds into the business on the back of “soft demand“.

When asked about rumoured store closures the firm offered that business is “good and expanding”, but unfortunately it could not control its landlord’s decisions on those branches winding up.
