Frog Bikes agrees 2 year partnership with Welsh Cycling

Frog bikes have partnered with Welsh Cycling in a bid to make cycling more accessible to all.

The children’s bike manufacturer will join Welsh Cycling at a number of family cycling events, to give kids and their siblings the opportunity to see what cycling is all about.

The scheduled events cover disciplines in cross-country mountain biking and cyclocross, with a test track and varied range of Frog Bikes available for kids of all ages to try.

Frog Bikes will support one of Welsh Cycling’s key objectives: to encourage as many children as possible to get on a bike in a safe environment.

Val Benyon, Head of Marketing at Frog Bikes, said of the partnership: “We are really excited to partner with Welsh Cycling as we realise that so many families can benefit from our shared ambition of making cycling more accessible.

“We want to see more kids on bikes, enjoying the experience at the events and beyond. If more children can have a positive introduction to cycling, we can help grow the sport and contribute towards families adopting a healthy and active lifestyle.”

The Frog range is designed specifically for children between the ages 1-14, featuring super-lightweight aluminium frames, shorter cranks and child-specific components. The range comprises of Balance, Hybrid, MTB, Road and Track bikes.

CEO of Welsh Cycling, Anne Adams-King, said: “Cyclocross and mountain biking are disciplines that are in a safe environment away from road noise and distraction, making these events a perfect setting for families and young children to enjoy their first experience on a bike in a secure and fun environment.

“We’re really pleased to be working with Frog Bikes in this manner, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a bike manufacturer who have their development programme in Pontypool in Wales and understand the need for an introduction to safe cycling at Welsh Cycling events, we’re looking forward to working with Frog Bikes at these events with an aim to increase participation of children cycling in Wales.”

The dates of the events are:

  • Welsh Cyclocross League Singleton Park, Swansea – 4 November 2018
  • Welsh Cyclocross Championships Abergavenny – 2 December 2018
  • Welsh Cyclocross League Pembrey Country Park – 16 December 2018
