I-Ride becomes distributor for Suomy helmet label

I-ride is now to carry Soumy helmets in the UK giving the distributor’s dealers access to a choice of two professional-level protective gear labels.

Found adorned to Team Cofidis in the pro peleton, Soumy stems from Italy where the firm’s protective headgear is designed and manufactured.

Founder Umberto Monti originally set out as a distributor for Bell and Japan’s DIC helmets, before deciding to pursue a dream to manufacture a house-label in Italy. Initially the business produced protective gear for the motocross market, where the brand scored 12 world titles. Involving his two brothers, Monti spotted a decline in the motorcycle business and began to manufacture for the cycling world.

Today the brand’s catalogue spans aero lids, through to stylish commuter and downhill ready full-face helmets.

Among those SKUs catching the eyes of bike dealers at the CoreBike show, dealers serving the triathlon market noted the Crono helmet for its inclusion of a magnetically attached pair of anti-fog glasses that flow perfectly into the shell’s contours.

To sit alongside the new addition, i-Ride is also a distributor for Catlike Helmets in the UK and Aire.
