IMG Distribution casts net wider than BMX with trio of Italian labels
IMG Distribution, traditionally a distributor focused on the 20″ wheel market, has broadened its scope, recruiting a trio of high-end Italian cycling labels.
Shown to the trade for the first time at the Cycle Show, the brand roster now includes handmade wheelsets from Tsunami, custom carbon framesets from Zerouno and a suspension fork from Bright.
The gear shift at IMG came over the summer with the distributor telling CI.N it is still very much committed to the BMX market with brands like Alienation and Vocal, among many others, but that it will now invite high-end mountain and road shops to make contact with enquiries regarding custom products. We were told that the trio of brands complement one another and that shops are welcome to order packages combining the products.
Front of the booth at the Cycle Show was an XC and Enduro-suited Zerouno frame, retailing at £3,480. Adorned to this was Bright’s £1,800 inverted fork, available in a 100 or 140mm spec and with a cartridge that is said to be changeable from the top in just five minutes. This is a handmade product that can be customised and shipped to the customer in around 15 days, we were told.
Zerouno’s website claims that the frame maker has a long-standing relationship with aerospace and Formula One carbon firms, with whom it shares materials to make uncompromising performance frames.
Meanwhile, Tsunami Carbon Project wheels are handmade in Italy and cover the road, gravel and mountain bike market.
