Inside a Revonte ONE Drive Unit: How drive and gears meet

Earlier this year we saw the Revonte ONE at Eurobike, where the team behind the integrated eBike motor and gearbox solution debuted its first collaboration with Ouca cargo bikes.

The company outlined that broad availability would begin from Q1 of 2023, offering a ‘one motor for all applications’ system.

The system is manufactured with the expertise of hGears, a Frankfurt listed specialist gearing parts maker whose input on the design has enabled Revonte to develop a unique system. hGears is said to have supplied component parts to near half the market’s eBikes sold in Europe in 2020.

To explore how the unique combination of power and gears works, in line with the expected Q1 2023 availability, the business has shared a ‘Revonte ONE transmission explained’ video, giving a clear understanding of the workings of the unique Drive Unit.

Where the platform enables bikes with ‘no gears’, via a fully integrated, fully automatic, transition system, represents a significant opportunity for bike manufacturers focusing energy on developing product specifically appealing to new cyclists.

Simplicity is key here, both for ride experience, and for rider based maintenance requirements. In keeping with this modern ownership experience, “the Revonte application, for iOS and Android” is an integral part of the Revonte ONE experience, enabling riders to configure the bike and track rides.

Theft alarm and tracking, configuration, diagnostics, updates, ride analytics, sharing, service record and more are all packaged, providing users with a seamless, familiar, connective, digital experience.
