Leeds manufacturer Restrap gains £65,000 Export Growth grant, orders new machinery

Having doubled its exports since 2016, Leeds-based bikepacking manufacturer Restrap has been granted a £65,000 Export Growth Grant.

On an upward trajectory in recent years, the firm in 2014 moved into a 2,800 square foot workshop where it has created Eurobike and Interbike award-winning lines like the CarryEverything saddlebag.

“With the grant we’re able to grow our export business further and have just ordered a CNC Fabric Aeronaut Cutter. We now believe we are the largest bike packing manufacturer in Europe with all products hand-made in our Factory in Leeds. We will be able to take our production to over 400 units per week,” says commercial and distribution director Edward Kingston.

This year the firm’s overseas distribution has grown to include Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Finland, Japan, the U.S. and South Korea.
