Lightweight strengthens management team with Christian Lichtenberg appointment

German carbon and glass fibre processing company carbovation has appointed Christian Lichtenberg to join Lightweight’s management team.

Lichtenberg specialises in lightweight construction and carbon technology. In his new position, he aims to strengthen Lightweight’s position as a leading brand for high-end full-carbon wheels and to deliver innovations that redefine premium performance.

He will also play a key role in driving Lightweight’s global growth and innovation strategy.

The company said Lichtenberg has a proven track record of steering businesses towards “strategic success and setting new standards in product innovation”. He also brings experience as a commentator and presenter for major cycling events, including Eurosport, Discovery+ and the Deutschland Tour.

Last year, Lightweight appointed Marco Hinzer as marketing manager, a role he has held since 1 October 2024. Hinzer’s appointment will support Lightweight’s focus on high-end full-carbon wheels and contribute to the company’s continued development. Originally from Nuremberg and now based in Munich, Hinzer previously worked as a media sales and marketing manager within the cycling sector.
