Messe Frankfurt and Messe Friedrichshafen launch new joint venture

Trade fair leaders Messe Frankfurt and Messe Friedrichshafen have announced the finalisation of their joint venture, fairnamic GmbH. The organisation will focus on the fields of urban mobility and general aviation, with EUROBIKE and AERO South Africa the core focus for the brands.

The goal of this latest venture is to expand and develop these flagship fairs at both venues and encourage innovation in global mobility and collaboration across these core brands.  This comes as Eurobike continues to expand its focus on cargo bikes and mobility.

From its base in Friedrichshafen, on the shores of Lake Constance, fairnamic expects to play a role in the markets of bikes, e-bikes, micro-mobility solutions, and general aviation. All areas believed to be ‘future facing’.

In announcing this latest venture Klaus Wellmann, Managing Director of Messe Friedrichshafen said “Mobility sectors represent extremely promising markets for the future, and our partnership seeks to acquire new markets and reach new target groups while expanding our international reach. Messe Frankfurt is a real heavyweight in the global trade fair market, making them our ideal partner.”

Similarly, Uwe Behm, one of Messe Frankfurt’s Board Members was equally effusive, saying “fairnamic allows us to unite factors that are the key to success in these promising markets: ‘globality’, strength and speed. We must assert and expand the market positions of the Eurobike and Aero flagship fairs quickly and make them available to a wide audience. This will strengthen and grow the mobility expertise of each of our companies.”

fairnamic will be led by managing directors, Stefan Reisinger (previously head of Eurobike) and Stefan Mittag. Both are experienced trade fair organisers.

Eurobike will make its Frankfurt debut from 13th to 17 July 2022. As well as offering more exhibition space, the move is expected to enable Eurobike to more than double its visitor count from 60,000 to 150,000 visitors. This move, its organisers hope, will enable it to better compete with encroaching competitors from the automotive industry.
