New commercial sales director appointed by Wattbike

Performance-focused indoor bike manufacturer Wattbike has appointed Sam Theyers as its new commercial sales director to help drive global health club expansion. Theyers will be tasked with tackling key international markets such as the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC.

He brings over 25 years of experience having worked at brands such as Life Fitness, Fitness First, Ezdihar Sports, and LA Fitness. This has helped build Theyers understanding of international connects and the fitness sector.

Wattbike will benefit from his experience managing major international accounts and fostering strategic partnerships. This puts Theyers in a position to lead the companys commercial growth internationally.

Theyers said: “I’ve been a passionate supporter of Wattbike for over a decade. It’s the go-to choice for elite athletes and professional sports teams worldwide, unmatched in its precision and performance.”

Theyers added: “While Wattbike has achieved remarkable success across professional sports globally, and in both professional sports and health clubs in the UK, there is still significant untapped potential in the global health club sector. I’m excited to join the team at this pivotal moment and help expand our presence worldwide, unlocking new opportunities and driving growth across international markets.”

Commercial business has long supported Wattbike and enabled its ability to diversify into a range of sectors including military, healthcare, education, and fitness clubs. Currently over 3,000 fitness clubs and studios in the UK use Wattbikes, with the company aiming to replicate this success globally.

Over the next six months Wattbike will introduce new products to the commercial market, meaning Theyers will hit the ground running in his new role. The company launched its broader consumer range in September which included the Wattbike proton and air.

Stephen Loftus, CEO of Wattbike, said: “We are excited to welcome Sam to the Wattbike team as the leader of our experienced Commercial Sales division. As we focus on expanding our international footprint, particularly within leading health clubs, Sam’s wealth of experience with leading fitness brands globally will be instrumental in forging the long-term partnerships that will fuel our global growth.”

Loftus added: “We’re confident that with Sam’s leadership, we can replicate the strong, long-term partnerships we’ve built in the UK and drive our international growth to new heights. This appointment reinforces Wattbike’s commitment to becoming a truly global brand, with international gym penetration forming a key foundation for our global expansion strategy and long-term success.”
