New Motion Labs shifts with OEM and eBike service centre partners

Heavy duty drivetrain business New Motion Labs has begun to recruit eBike service centre partners and drive its OEM trade further with the claim of its Enduo drivetrain lasting three times longer than its competitors.

The business recruited new CEO Steven Senior late in Spring in tandem with a company raise that saw £750,000 in cash banked from the Green Angel Syndicate. Speaking at Eurobike, Steven told CI.N: “We have had out chain out for testing with one of the world’s largest chain manufacturers and their results indicate our heavy duty product lasts three times longer than our competitors’. That’s huge for those with large fleets to maintain and we calculate could be worth £650,000 in maintenance savings annually for every one thousand bikes on the road.”

The brand is taking that stat to as many OEMs as it can and Eurobike was not short of those cycle utility labels requiring a more industrial component for hauling large loads under strain. Aside from this, we’re told that electric bike service centres, such as London’s Fully Charged, are now taking the product on as an aftermarket item in order to be able to offer customers a long-lasting upgrade.

The business apparently already has the attention of businesses anticipating fleet sizes into the hundreds of thousands and, given the strength and efficiency of the drive, also of national track cycling teams.

“On Monday we recruited Travis Bramley of Team Spectra Wiggle,” says Steven on the performance cycling and team expansion elements of the business.

To help support the anticipated demand five new recruits have come on in as many weeks and the company expects to “recruit one person every month for the next five years” as the business scales. Next year it is expected the business will turnover €5 million with a forward looking goal of €30 million in the years to follow.

The business presently has offices in Exeter, Frankfurt and soon Utrecht too. Production for the drivetrain is now taking place in the Czech Republic and the product range presently consists of a chainring in 54/64/70 tooth; sprocket in 22/24/26 tooth and chain with either 138 or 168 links.

The RRP for New Motion Labs Enduo product is £225 (€265), though discounts are available for OEMs or eBike service centres buying in bulk. A new website launched just this week further illustrating the business’s offering.
