OnGuard Pitbull + Brute range certified to Sold Secure Diamond Standard in UK first

Moore Large has announced the OnGuard Pitbull and Brute range are the first locks in the UK to be certified to Diamond standard by independent lock testing organisation, Sold Secure.

Sold Secure’s ratings have long been an industry standard, and it recently added a new Diamond standard for testing within the bicycle lock category. The Diamond rating tests locks under a much higher intensity than any other test carried out before, according to the firm.

Due to the rapid growth of the e-Bike sector, which is tipped to reach $32 billion in six years, coupled with an increase in average bicycle price over the last decade, and with it a rise in bicycle theft, a higher level of security testing has become necessary within the industry.

OnGuard has focused efforts to increase its standards to meet the new Diamond, and now has five locks meeting this classification.

The brand said: “Being the first brand in the UK to achieve this standard speaks volumes for the quality of OnGuard’s products. OnGuard continues to march towards the front of the queue when it comes to bicycle security.

“It’s this constant innovation, to provide our customers a lock where they don’t need to compromise between security and wight, that has meant we have become the first brand in the UK to get a number of our locks to this new prestigious standard.”

With cycling levels up as much as 300% during the height of lockdown, knock-on sales of locks, security components and other accessories, have risen significantly over recent months.
