Registration for webinar on safe e-Bike battery storage goes live

Bike shops mulling over their e-bike battery storage options have been invited to sign up to a free webinar detailing the key dos and don’ts for shop staff.

Run by German manufacturer of safe storage cabinets Asecos, the date and time for your diary is Wednesday 9th, September, starting at 11am and finishing at midday. To put your name down to attend, register here.

The seminar will discuss the dangers posed by lithium-ion batteries; how they react when something goes wrong; the difference between passive and active storage; the technology behind safe storage cabinets; the model choices available, the alarm signalling options.

The subject is very often shrugged off as one that businesses can play fast and loose, but as one Hanover shop found out, a battery fire inside your shop is as good as game over if not quickly contained. E-bike battery storage units specifically for bike stores are not commonplace in the market as yet, although Shimano has likewise produced its own model suited to its Steps system batteries.

As profiled on CI.N last month, Asecos has adapted its product line around bike market needs, specifically tailoring the size of its cabinets to suit the typical floor space of the modern bike shop.

If you’re unable to make the webinar, Edward Benjamin, Senior Managing Director, eCycleElectric LLC and Chairman, Light Electric Vehicle Association penned this piece that addresses why it is crucial bike shops don’t sit on their hands for too long if they are handling a high volume of electric bike trades.
