Schwalbe Volunteer Programme launches to offer retailers extra pair of hands
Schwalbe has launched a volunteer programme to assist retailers in coping with the recent surge in business, particularly for service and repairs, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The programme will allow retailers in the UK access to a Schwalbe Sales Promoter who will work as an extra pair of hands, either in the workshop or on the shop floor, for a day or multiple days if required, free of charge to the retailer.
Having run the scheme on a limited basis for a month, with over 30 volunteering days undertaken at more than 20 different retailers, Schwalbe said the response from shops has been ‘extremely positive’. The assistance from Schwalbe staff has helped retailers get on top of large backlogs of work, with shop owners and managers appreciative of the extra help.
The Sales Promoters can assist retailers with services such as workshop assistance, including bike preparation/PDI, and bike servicing subject to discussion. They can also help with bike collection and drop off to customers, stock control and management, merchandising, receiving and storing the delivery of stock, and charity enterprise work.
Other services include running a puncture workshop either in-store or outside under a Schwalbe provided easy-up, as well as meeting and greeting customers, offering advice and guidance on product selection where appropriate, answering phone calls, emails and queries from customers, and helping customers to find the goods and products they are looking for.
The assistance of Schwalbe’s Sales Promoters is subject to national regulations on working and social distancing across the UK, and retailers must have up-to-date Public Liability insurance cover. Retailers involved in the volunteer programme must abide by ‘Working safely during coronavirus (Covid-19)’ by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and the Sales Promoters will follow all Covid safety measures put in place by retailers.
To arrange assistance, retailers can call Schwalbe UK on 01952 602 680, or email for more information.
