Specialized moves annual Retailer Event to September 2017

Specialized has announced that its annual Retailer Event will now fall after the peak summer selling season, taking place in September from 2017.

In an email to dealers, new managing director Simon Homer offered: “Globally, we believe that holding this after the summer is more aligned with the reality of the market. It will no longer interrupt the peak selling season, nor will it advance the sale period, which in recent years, have become an absurd race.

“Lastly, it will also bring innovations and new product launches closer to their actual dates of availability. In a few months, we will inform you of the date and the exact locations; his will allow you to start planning for a season that, this upcoming year, will be longer.”

In the mailout, Homer also apologised for a handful of recent stock issues, pointing to both production delays and high demand as being causes for the bottleneck.
