Specialized’s Birmingham concept store enters liquidation

Specialized’s Birmingham brand store has closed with the parent company having entered liquidation.

Records indicate that the operator, Anaquest Limited, have now appointed FRP Advisory to liquidate the business.

Found on a retail park just off the M6, the destination store is one of ten operated in the UK under the Specialized Concept Store banner. Online the brand is currently listing the premises as “closed for refurbishment”, however CI.N has been informed by members of the trade that the business appears to have permanently closed, something backed by Companies House records.

Back in September of 2017, Rutland Cycling acquired the Nottingham branch, giving the retail chain a second brand store to sit alongside its Giant store.

One year earlier the Kingston Specialized store also closed.

CI.N has reached out to the brand for further comment on the future of the premises.
