Stromer issues voluntary recall on select ST1, ST3 and ST5 models

Stromer has issued a voluntary recall notice covering certain ST1, ST3 and ST5 speed pedelecs that may have a manufacturing defect at the fork.

The recall notice reads:

Comprehensive quality and stress tests by an external testing institute show that in some cases cracks can form in the area of the weld seam due to external forces, which can potentially lead to breakage of the rigid fork after use. As a result, there is the risk of possible injuries.

Affected are certain models ST1, ST3 and ST5, sold in the EU and Switzerland.

Affected customers have been informed by Stromer directly by e-mail and by letter. They can have a free fork exchange carried out immediately via an authorized STROMER dealer of their choice.

myStromer AG would like to apologize expressly and sincerely for the inconvenience and thank the affected Stromer owners for their understanding.

Customer inquiries regarding this voluntary recall should be directed to: fork@stromerbike.com

In the UK Hotlines Europe took on the distribution of the speed pedelec brand last year. For bike shops interested in carrying the product, the distributor is equipped to guide staff through the legislative differences and requirements of customers in terms of licences, tax and insurance of the vehicle.
