Alan, Director of The Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, said of the break in: “This is a huge shock to us all. We are an independent bike shop and it sickens us that we have been targeted by thieves like this. As a worker’s cooperative, we are not a large corporation who can easily absorb the costs of a break-in. We are also not in business to make money for corporate fat-cats, we’re owned by our employees and share the profits equally so this break-in affects every member.

“If you hear of anything that could be related to this break-in, or see the bikes above for sale, please contact the police.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101 or if they wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
