UK’s largest Giant store at St Paul’s acquired by Cadence Performance

Cadence Performance has announced the acquisition of the UK’s largest Giant store, the St Paul’s branch in Central London.

Chalked up as the fifth owned property in the Cadence Performance store portfolio, the St Paul’s branch joins branches in Crystal Palace, Radlett, Twickenham and Shoreham-by-Sea.

Mike Cunningham at Cadence told CI.N that it will retain the sales and workshop teams and seek to grow bike fitting and coaching business off shoots, as well as other Cadence services.

At select stores the business offers fitness testing services, including VO2 max, lactate threshold, body composition analysis and blood testing, something that has made the chain popular with performance cyclists. Furthermore, the Crystal Palace and Radlett branches host indoor cycling classes, yoga and Pilates, among other experiences.

“Our relationship with the team at Giant UK is incredibly strong and this acquisition will help the partnership continue to flourish. We are hugely excited to start working together to deliver the customer service levels and specialist services that Cadence has become known for over the years.

“The City of London has been getting busier and busier since the start of 2022. We are seeing sales of e-bikes and other commuting options growing each week. The location has an amazing amount of space, which will enable us to showcase the very best from Giant, Liv, Momentum and Cadex.

“When you enter the St Paul’s store the airy, double height ceiling, has a real sense of space and a relaxed atmosphere. This space offers us an exciting venue to engage local workers and the wider cycling community with fitness classes, yoga, Pilates and other health and wellbeing opportunities. In addition, the central London location gives us space to host product launches, talks, interviews and films from the cycling community, whilst being a great starting point for led rides.”
