All-New Topstone Carbon gets upgraded suspension and traditional wheel dish

Cannondale has launched the all-new Topstone Carbon, with improved geometry, enhanced, ride-smoothing, Kingpin suspension, and a traditional wheel dish.

Announcing the Topstone Carbon –  redesigned from the ground up – Nina Baum, Cannondale Product Manager highlights that they’ve built, “a tool that does it all,” engineering a bike which is capable of delivering on, “local singletrack, jumping into your first gravel race, or that overnight bikepacking trip turned transcontinental ride.”

The new bike features a revised Kingpin suspension – 100 grams lighter, more durable, and more streamlined than in it’s previous iteration – absorbing bumps and vibrations without the weight and complexity of shocks or springs.

Cannondale’s applied Proportional Response ensures that riders of all sizes get the best performance and comfort out of their bike, combined with additional geometry changes, including lower standover and BB height, to add even more gravel and exploration ride confidence.

The award-winning Lefty Oliver now comes paired with 700c wheels, on a bike which can accommodate up to 45mm tyres, meaning a 27.5” x 2.1” tyre gives you serious off-roading capabilities.

Bikepacking on gravel roads, 2 bikes side by sideExtending this versatility even further, Cannondale has brought in a traditional wheel dish, and threaded BSA bottom bracket, making it simple to swap for a different wheelset or new cranks.

In keeping with the ‘go anywhere, do anything’ theme, the bike also comes with plenty of mounts, and a Cannondale StrapRack so you can gear up for roads less travelled.

All Topstone Carbons are SmartSense (Cannondale’s intelligent system of lights and radar) ready, with selected models coming specc’d as standard.

The US brand has seen some major changes in the the past 6 months, with the announcement of a significant European manufacturing increase planned for 2022, coming hot on the heels of parent company, Dorel Sports, being acquired by PON Holdings.
