Classified Cycling launch 7 wheel brand partnerships

Classified Cycling have announced that 7 leading wheel brands have committed to bringing Powershift ready wheels to market.

The partnership rollcall reads: DT Swiss, Mavic, Fast Forward, Enve, Reynolds, Boyd Cycling, and Spinergy.

Enabling cyclists to combine their favourite wheelset with the Powershift technology, these 7 wheel brands will be the first to join the Classified revolution, marketing specific Powershift ready rims.

By opening up the interface Classified embraces a new and important chapter in its expansion, giving road and gravel cyclists a broad range of wheel options, designed to work perfectly in combination with the deep tech of the Powershift hub. This widespread adoption of a new standard of shifting technology is an unique moment in the cycling industry. The Classified-ready partner wheels will include a selection of higher segment premium rims, with road, gravel and MTB options available. They will be competitively priced in line with the current partner wheels.

Of the announcement, Classified CEO, Mathias Plouvier comments: “There was a big request coming from the industry and riders around the world to make Powershift more accessible. So we are beyond excited to announce that we have partnered with 7 leading wheel brands to build bespoke Classified ready wheels.”

“This broad adoption of Powershift underlines the market’s recognition that our innovative shifting system is well and truly accepted within the cycling ecosystem …. we’re looking forward to seeing more and more cyclists integrating Powershift into their favourite wheel.”

Classified Cycling Hub, through axel and cassette in dark studio shotHub Only solution also launched

With leading wheel brands joining the Classified revolution, the brand is launching a Powershift hub only option, available to purchase as a standalone product, through the certified Classified dealer network.

This additional step offers cyclists the opportunity to lace the game-changing Powershift technology into the rim of their choice.

“We want the cycling world to be able to ride Powershift and so we decided to remove all limitations and make our revolutionary shifting technology available to all. With the Hub Only solution cyclists have the option to freely incorporate Powershift into their bike setup” said Mathias Plouvier, CEO of Classified.

“The Hub Only solution gives cyclists, both professional and amateurs, the ultimate control and freedom to upgrade their existing bikes or build a new one from scratch in the configuration of their choice”

The Powershift Hub kit will be sold in an exclusive package containing the shifting system, the smart thru axle, the handle bar module and a cassette of choice. The Powershift hub is compatible with most disc brake frames. Classified has 11 and 12 speed proprietary one-piece steel cassettes available, ranging from 11-27 to 11-40.
