Cycle to Work Day returns for 7th year with Love to Ride challenges

Cycle to Work Day is returning this year on Thursday 8th August, this year running on an online platform, Love to Ride, which encourages and rewards cycling.

Cyclescheme has exclusively partnered with the platform to create a free online community where cyclists can set goals, record rides, earn badges and unlock exclusive competitions and discounts.

This year, Cycle to Work Day is kicking up a gear with the implementation of seven challenges, each of which will run on Love to Ride across seven weeks. Riders can complete them all or pick and choose their favourites, and for every challenge a rider completes they will secure a place in that week’s prize draw.

Along with its brand partners (Cube, Rapha, Ribble, Specialized and Trek) Cyclescheme has a pot worth over £10,000 to give away during the seven weeks, ranging from accessory bundles to an e-bike worth over £2,500.

The challenges are as follows…

Week 1: Log a ride

Riders need to join the lovetoride.net/cyclescheme community (for free) and log a bike ride between 1-7 July. Prize: Ribble Workshop Bundle RRP £112.80.

Week 2: The reason you ride

Riders need to log a bike ride and tell Cyclescheme the reason they ride between 8-14 July via their profile on Love to Ride. Prize: £250 Specialized Accessory voucher.

Week 3: Find your cycle commuting community

Riders need to log a bike ride and upload a photo of them with a fellow cycle commuter between 15-21 July. Prize: Ribble Hybrid AL e-bike RRP £1,899

Week 4: Celebrate women’s cycling

Week 6: Ride this Cycle to Work Day

The main event, riders need to record a cycle commute on cycle to work day, 8th August, no matter how far or fast they go. Prize: 1x Specialized Turbo Levo Hardtail SRP RRP £2,250 & 1x Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 Step-Through RRP £2,900.

Week 7: Share your story

Cyclescheme wants to know if riders feel fitter, happier, and less stressed after taking part in the seven week initiative. Riders need to log a ride and update their ‘cycling story’ between 12-16 August for the chance to win. Prize: 5x £100 Rapha voucher.

Last year, the event reached more than 68 million people on social media. Cyclescheme has created a handy toolkit filled with everything businesses, retailers, and organisations need to shout about Cycle to Work Day to their audiences.
