Cycling Industry News launches 2022 Market Data drive

Cycling Industry News is pleased to announce the launch of our 2022 Market Data drive, delivered in association with Raleigh, Extra, Forme Bikes, Exposure Lights, Magura, Continental, Ison Distribution and Paligap.

Now in its fifth year, CI.N’s annual research once again invites UK-based independent bike retailers to participate here.

Increasingly important at a time where quick decision making is essential, our cycling market data has enabled businesses across retail, distribution, manufacturing, investment and even several upstarts to read the marketplace with confidence. Putting the insight to use businesses have been able to develop a broader understanding of what factors are most likely to secure long-lasting and profitable partnerships across the supply chain, as well as what products, price points and brand names are seeing the greatest success in the marketplace.

Launching the 2022 research, Cycling Industry News’ editor Mark Sutton said: “Year after year I’m delighted by the support the bicycle business shows for our efforts to map the movement of the marketplace over time. Five years in we find ourselves at an inflection point in the industry where trends are turning sharply, ahead of most forecasts, as part of Covid-19’s worldwide shake up. This year’s study will likely be our most important to date and so my thanks goes firstly every bike shop and workshop that shares their valuable time and insight. Likewise, my thanks extends to the sponsors that not only make this research possible, but who also show a commitment to their customers by seeking to improve their partnerships off the back of the findings.”

This years’ study is marginally shorter than prior research, instead seeking to deliver a greater level of depth on key subjects affecting the marketplace at present. The estimated completion time runs at just a little over ten minutes and by way of thanks for participants’ efforts, the full report will be once again delivered in Q1 2022 to those retail businesses completing the study. (Participation is open only to UK-based independent retailers and workshops, businesses that do not qualify will be removed from the final dataset.)

Alongside this, our sponsors have once more put up a range of further incentives, ranging prizes to trade discounts, details of which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Once again, all data gathered will be anonymised for the purpose of the report and subsequent articles detailing the market’s progress.

Those wishing to pre-register interest in the 2022 Cycling Market Data service can email the editor here. It is estimated the completed report will become available to purchase from the end of January.
